DESCRIPTION:In what has become one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day events on the West Coast\, Virginia City will once again turn its historic streets green on Saturday\, March 14. The day will kick-off with the 35th annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The long-running testicle festival has become a hallmark of St. Patrick’s Day weekend in northern Nevada\, drawing visitors for creative Rocky Mountain oyster dishes. The festival will be joined by the “St. Paddy Made Me Do It” Saloon Crawl\, St. Patrick’s Day parade\, costume contests and live Irish music throughout the day.\nTickets are now on sale and available here.

DESCRIPTION:Members of the Reno Fire Department (RFD) will once again take part in the 16th Annual Shamrock Shave for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The event will be held at Ole Bridge Pub\, located at 50 North Sierra Street\, from noon to 5 p.m.  The public and media are invited to attend.\n“This fundraiser event is all about the kids and helping them in one of their most challenging moments\,” said Reno Fire Captain Jason Eastman\, who is the primary event contact for the Shamrock Shave. “The Shamrock Shave is a highlight each year for the Reno Fire Department\, and we’re excited to see the community show up in support.”\nRFD and other northern Nevada firefighters will take part in the shave to help find a cure. Reno residents are welcome to join RFD as all contributions from the event will go to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
